New Patients
Welcome to Blossoming Earth! New patient appointments can be easily scheduled by contacting Melanie directly at (503) 389-5982 or admin@blossomingearth.com. It is nice to arrive about 10 minutes early, so you may settle into the space before starting your appointment. Call or email if you have any questions in preparation for your first visit.
As of 5/12/23, there is about a 3 month wait to get in for new patients. For those who are okay with waiting to get in, we are happy to answer any preliminary questions you might have and get you scheduled for a New Patient Evaluation & Treatment appointment. However, we totally understand many patients may prefer to find somewhere they can get in sooner. We continue to make improvements in availability of appointments to help meet the needs of our local community.
New Patient Evaluation & Treatment. What to expect: New patients will experience a thorough discussion of your health concerns, treatment goals, and relevant medical history plus a Classical Chinese Medicine evaluation (including intricate pulse and/or abdomen diagnostic methods), and treatment. Treatments are focused on healing the underlying cause of health concerns while providing symptom relief. All treatments are individualized based on your needs, and typically combine Acupuncture, CranioSacral Therapy, Chinese herbalism, and/or additional Chinese medicine modalities, such as Oriental bodywork techniques, heat therapies, or cupping (treatments vary depending on what is needed for your unique health presentation). The first treatment is usually Acupuncture or CranioSacral Therapy only due to time constraints. If you have any hesitation about receiving Acupuncture, other modalities can be utilized, including Acupressure or other alternative ways of stimulating the Acupuncture points and meridians. During your first visit, we will discuss your treatment goals and develop a treatment plan that meets your individual needs. An herbal prescription is typically incorporated into treatment after the second or third visit (when indicated).

Free informative consultations: Call or schedule a time with Melanie (by phone or in person) to learn about her treatment modalities, which modalities will be best for your unique healthcare needs, and what to expect during your visit.
30 minute mini treatments ($55): For patients who would like to try Acupuncture or CranioSacral Therapy before doing a thorough new patient intake process, Melanie offers 30 minute mini Acupuncture or mini CranioSacral Therapy treatments.
Health insurance, motor vehicle claims, and sliding scale:
Health Insurance: To learn about your insurance coverage for Acupuncture and whether I can accept your insurance for in-network or out of network benefits, email or call me with your full name, insurance company name, member ID#, and your date of birth.

MVA claims: I bill for MVA (motor vehicle accident) claims with medical benefits and Acupuncture coverage. Acupuncture is included in Personal Injury Policies (PIP) in the state of Oregon. Please bring your insurance information with you to your first visit, including claim number and phone number of the department handling your medical claim.
**Sliding scale available: I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots for patients who are experiencing financial hardship. If this is you, please ask me about the sliding scale. Donations to support this cause are accepted. Please inquire for details.
